Ouroboros Flare by meralis Ouroboros Flare by meralis
Pretty simple symbolism here; The infinity Ouroboros, which is a snake biting his tail.
The Kanji is Chinese for snake. and I'll let you guys figure out the rest. ^_^

I really enjoyed doing this piece, and have come to find a gentle beauty in snakes since now drawing one (oh and yes this is technically my first drawing of a snake). Comments are always welcome and critiques are even more welcome.

Oh wow, I love dragons and this is absolutely beautiful. I have never seen anything like this before. It's very attracting to the eyes yet still rather calm in colors. How you managed to do that, I do not know. :eyepopping:

Another great one.

I guess you're right :P
i knew all that about the snake being symbol for rebirth (doing that kickass skin-changing bussiness :P, no wonder ancient cultures saw it and thought snakes were cool right away :P), but what I meant was that the iconism behind elemental was...hmmm...i guess, a bit more 'universal', you might say.

Anyways, it's your art...your technique's flawless, and both the snake and elemental are really kickass :)
your vision of both pieces...well, it's not better or's just different ;)

so don't panic, you're on your way to be a really impressive wavism artist!! -and wavism pioneer! who knows? :P-

Ohhhhh, okay I get what you mean. *nods* Yeah on that aspect elemental was better. Heh *shrugs* Hopefully my next pieces will connect with more people. heh Anyway, thank you very much for the critique. I'm always happy to hear what people think. ^_^

awesome wavism, hun! you're getting better and better! :)
but...a snake biting it's own tail? O.o looks way too aztec, or something ... :P

liked more the mystique behind the other two...elemental's still my favorite :)
you were really inspired for that one!

the technique, flawless...actually, better every time ;)
but i really prefer the theme for the other two... :)

still, kickass work! -clap clap-

Heh Thank you very much. Such is the way of requests, but I hope there are people out there that really like this style, if not ~JaedenDak loves it so I'm happy. ^_^ lol

I personally like the Elemental the most so far (will I ever surpass it? who knows...) but I'm planning on going back to iconology/symbolism. However, on later research this piece has a lot more meaning if you know anything about Indian Spirit Totems. Snakes are a symbol for wholeness, rebirth, and regeneration. More interesting the snake in this is never ending likw wholeness, and rebirth, and regeneration. *scratches head* Which brings up a good point: Why do a lot of my pieces have a lot of symbolism and meaning when I don't (well... sometimes) mean to place them there? *blink blink* Do I just know these things unconciously or am I just lucky? *shrugs*... anyway I'm really glad you liked the technique. ^_^

Good design, and good use of black.

Actually I think the background colour suites this quite well. The snake design would make a awesome tatoo design i'd say....I don't see any flaws and i've told you what I thought so i'll make my way outta here :)

Thanks very much! It's funny, when I first showed ~JaedenDak the piece the next few things he mentioned was getting the snake tattooed on his back or arm. (personally I hope he doesn't... but it would be pretty cool! heh) Thanks for checking on my work. ^_^

Awesome, this is different from your other pictures from color, but it still looks great. This could make a really awesome tattoo design, and the snake is really nice, very powerful looking. These are coming along great:)

bwa ha ha -- first comment on a kickass piece! Quite the collection you have there! Keep this up -- I'm going to need prints to decorate my new apartment with! :D

lol sure thing. I'm hoping to have a bunch before March, but we shall see.
Hey quick question, would you prefer the black border included or without on the print? I will be buying a prints account soon so trying to figure out how people would like printed exactly. Thanks again chica!
